First Unitarian Church of Cleveland became an accredited Unitarian Universalist Green Sanctuary in 2011. Subsequently we have continued to find ways to become more sustainable and to engage the larger community in our efforts.
In addition to a community vegetable garden we have installed a beautiful permaculture garden and a solar array that powers the church. The array also has rain gutters to capture rainwater in cisterns to provide water for the garden. We also are continuing to work with a community garden in inner city Cleveland.
