Since the fall of 2013, with the support of the Trinity Lutheran Seminary’s Board of Directors, Trinity has initiated an energy audit with Ohioans for Sustainable Change and has formed a Green Seminary Task Force to implement energy upgrades, reduce carbon emissions, and embark on major stewardship initiatives.

The Columbus-Franklin County Finance Authority granted Trinity a $600,000 loan to implement the recommendations of the seminary’s energy audit that was completed in 2014. The financing will be used for more efficient lighting, as well as sensors and automated controls on the heating and cooling systems. Ultimately, this loan will allow Trinity to reduce its carbon footprint and further its goal of becoming a GreenFaith certified seminary. The work started in summer 2015 with the goal of being completed by the end of 2015.
